In 1971, a solar observatory in Arizona detects an anomaly: a signal emitted by an unknown artefact. As scientists and military officials work to decode the signal, they realize it is not a message, but navigational telemetry for an unknown object on a direct trajectory with Earth.

It is a story of scientific hubris, the dread of the unknown, and the catastrophic failures that occur when humanity tries to grasp things it was never meant to understand.

This is my eighth short film created using public domain footage. The story was not written beforehand but was discovered within the images themselves, emerging from the sense of dread captured in forgotten reels of film.

The original soundtrack is already on Bandcamp. It will be soon on all the other streaming platforms.

Technical Notes:
Resonance was created using archival footage sourced primarily from the Prelinger Archive. All editing, scoring, and visual effects were completed by me.

Sound:
The minimalist sound design relies on a score composed to carry the atmosphere and emotional weight of the story, with very little additional foley and sound effects mostly sourced from the Creative Commons 0 Library at Freesound.org.

Software Used:
Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Photoshop, Blender.
